Never Once —Did We Feel a Frown

Betty and the cats, oh my —

We all laugh, we smile, we even sigh.

We never know how many there are,

but we know they come from near and far.

We sit, we giggle, we even share a story;

we can’t keep up with the feline inventory!

The cats, eat, sleep, and often cuddle,

they scratch the couch and get into trouble.

When the day closes its bright shiny eyes,

the cats find Betty for a tasty surprise.

Some eat atop the kitchen counter,

Some jump into the New England clam chowder!

After the feast and paw-licks are complete,

they nap and return for leftover lunchmeat!

We herd them up, we chase them down,

Never once —did we feel a frown.
